Servicon Systems, Inc. was founded by Richard Mahdesian in 1976. Focusing mainly on aerospace and military installations, Mr. Mahdesian was a pioneer of the Total Care Package, soon to be known as Integrated Facility Solutions. Utilizing years of experience within the field as well as contacts from his dedicated military service, Mr. Mahdesian quickly established Servicon Systems as the leader in dynamic, sustainable and secure facility management in Southern California. In the 1980’s Servicon expanded its service to include the commercial, public and institutional markets, and in 1986, Michael Mahdesian expanded the Servicon brand by developing a Supply distribution division. By maintaining an emphasis on environmental sustainability and personal integrity, Servicon has been able to maintain lasting relationships as well as build the dynamic business model that has allowed for our rapid growth over the last five years.

Richard J. Mahdesian - General Manager

Richard Mahdesian is one of the true pioneers of the "Total Service" concept. During the late 1950's, he started his own corporation integrating facility services, security, and crowd management under one service contractor for various corporations, sports complexes, and military installations. The company was acquired in 1969 by a major international security firm, and Mr. Mahdesian remained on as a Division President. In the mid 1970's , he formed a family venture called Servicon Systems, Inc., and has been very active in its operations as General Manager.

Mr. Mahdesian attended the University of Southern California with Athletic and Academic Scholarships. After graduation, he was an Air Force Personnel Officer at Edwards Air Base's Air Force Flight Test Center. He later attended UCLA's Andersen Graduate Executive School.

new michaelMichael rejoined Servicon in 2000 after seven years as a Presidential Appointee in Washington D.C. where he served as Deputy for the Bureau of Humanitarian Response at the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development. During this period, he was integrally involved in the U.S. response to crises in Haiti, Rwanda, Bosnia, Kosovo, Congo and other trouble spots around the world. Mr. Mahdesian has had a long history with Servicon, prior to his years in Washington, D.C. In 1986 he started Pacifica Consulting Services, Inc., which has now become Servicon’s Supply and Equipment Division. He is the Director of Servicon's Business Development and Corporate Strategy. Mr. Mahdesian received his BA from USC and his MA from UCLA’s School of Urban Planning. He is now on the Board of Advisors of UCLA’s School of Public Affairs, the Board of Los Angeles Business Council as well as Board of the Democracy Council and Chairman of Operation USA.

Laurie Sewell - President

 Laurie joined Servicon Systems, Inc. in 1988 and administers many of their performance based and corporate agreement contracts, she has developed Servicon's Quality Assurance Program and spends much of her time in business development.  She also heads the Supply and Equipment Division, Pacifica Consulting Services. Under her management, Pacifica has been the recipient of numerous Supplier Awards. She was on the Stakeholder and review committee for both GS 42, Grean Seal’s Environmental Standard for Cleaning Services and ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard.  She is the director of Servicon’s Green Strategic Initiative. In 2008, Laurie was appointed president of Servicon Systems.

Ms. Sewell was the Pacific Southwest District Director for the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA). A frequent author for industry magazines, and panelist/speaker for industry events, she is also on the Editorial Advisory Board of Sanitary Maintenance Magazine. Ms. Sewell holds a BS in Marketing from the Pennsylvania State University and a MA in Organizational Development from the Phillips Graduate Institute, Encino, CA.

Enio Martinez - Vice President

 Enio Martinez is the Vice President of Operations for Servicon, managing the company's commercial and healthcare portfolios. Holding a degree in education, Mr. Martinez first joined the Servicon Family in 1989 as an area manager, a post he held until 1991. He then moved to Pedus Building Services where he served with great versatility in a number of roles including Director of Operations and Vice President of Operations.In 2006, Servicon Systems, Inc. acquired Pedus Building Services and in doing so was happy to welcome Mr. Martinez back into the Servicon Family. Mr. Martinez is proud to be a member of the LA County Hospital's Infection Control Team, a holder of a Biohazardous Waste Handling Certification, and a member of APIC.

Stacey Wong- Manager of Business Development and Marketing

Stacey manages the marketing and business development division for Servicon Systems. She graduated from UCLA with a BA in Spanish Literature and played on the school's Division 1 Volleyball team as a defensive specialist. After living in Spain for her last semester of college, she returned to the U.S. to begin working with Technical Concepts, a manufacturer of touch free restroom fixtures. She has been involved with the janitorial and service industry since 2004 with Technical Concepts and joined Servicon in 2007 to develop and grow the marketing and sales division. Since her involvement with Servicon, she has been recognized by The San Fernando Business Journal as one of their "40 under 40" successful business people for her outstanding accomplishments. Her efforts have made Servicon's commitment to sustainability and quality operations the company’s defining characteristics in the commercial industry.

Maritza Aguilar- VP/CFO


 Ms. Aguilar oversees the financial and administrative functions of Servicon. She has a BA degree from Pomona College in Claremont, CA and an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA. She joined Servicon in 2004 after eleven and half years at Mattel where she held various positions in Finance and Strategic Planning including Controller of the subsidiary in Portugal, Director of International Trade and Public Affairs for the European region, Director of New Market Development in the international division, and Director of Strategic Planning in the U.S. sales division. Previously, she was also an Assistant Vice President at Union Bank where she managed a portfolio of middle-sized companies in various industries. Ms. Aguilar brings a wealth of experience in financial analysis, planning, management reporting, and implementation of systems and procedures.

This extensive experience in financial management and implementation of systems, policies, and procedures are a great asset to Servicon. Ms. Aguilar has been key in strengthening the foundation for our internal administrative operations to continue to better serve our employees and customers.

Rick Tate- VP of Risk Management

 Mr. Tate is the Risk Manager for Servicon. Mr. Tate earned a BA from Occidental College of Los Angeles. He has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources and Risk Management. Mr. Tate has served in multifarious capacities as, Insurance Administrator, Claims Manager, Human Resources Manager, Risk Manager and Vice President. During the last decade he served as the Executive Vice President of Risk Management for a multinational service company, based in Germany.

Mr. Tate's impact on Servicon has been immediate, positive and beneficial. He has assisted in the development of improving administrative efficiencies in the areas of Human Resources, Insurance programs, broker utilization, internal, contractual, and legal protocols and policies. His efforts have translated into improved operating efficiencies that have allowed us to serve our clients better. We are excited about his proposed future systems initializations and enhancements that will enable Servicon to further separate and distinguish itself from competitors; and to serve our clients in more unique and cost effective ways.

Mark Rossiter, VP of Operations

Mark Rossiter joined the Servicon Systems management team as Vice President of Operations in 2007, bringing with him more than 30 years of industry experience. A Minnesota native, Mark earned his B.S. in Engineering from The University of Minnesota. Before Servicon, Mark worked with Service Master Clean, and later with Aramark. Mark oversees the maintenance of Servicon's Aerospace contracts and has proven to be an invaluable addition to the Servicon family.
